I know when you guys read that title you were probably thinking – “this girl has lost her mind. Who enjoys pain?!”
Don’t fight me just yet, lol.
As I sit and type this post and sway a bit to the music blazing in my ears, my sides hurt like crap. They hurt because I worked out with my trainer – two days ago. That tells me that the workout worked. I can actually feel the muscles I worked that day and if I continue my love handles will be gone! Lol
Simply put – I’m enjoying the HECK out of this pain because I know what this pain means. I’m enjoying the fact that the suffering I’m enduring in these muscles two days after my workout will reap me a glorious reward in the end – if I don’t quit.
What’s paining you right now? I’d love to know, seriously.
As you examine your life, what’s a hard area you’re battling with? What are a few of the things that you can’t STAND to do but you have to for the right results?
If you’re anything like me, you didn’t have to think too hard. It’s ever present. Being a PAIN! But this pain is there to teach you a valuable lesson. You must continue. You can’t give up if you want the results.
There are things in life that are truly bothersome and don’t feel good at all.
I’d like you to take a moment and shift your perspective. Stop trying to run away from what doesn’t feel good and try to embrace it. Know that it’s working for your good!
Romans 8:18 says “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Me complaining about this pain isn’t worth it when I think about the health (and toned body) that will be revealed in the end.
The saying may be cliche, but “what’s coming after this is so much greater!”
There are so many examples of what happens when we “enjoy” pain…
When a mother is travelling through 36 hours of labor to bring forth her child, she endures because of her expectancy of that beautiful baby.
Take a note from Jesus as he endured the pain of the cross. There is no way in heaven that experience He went through for us was the least bit pleasant. He just chose to stay because of the JOY that was set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). But how can thorns in my head, beatings and torture be joyful???! HOW?! He knew that the pain was worth it. It didn’t matter. The fact that He would save His people and sit on the right hand of the Father with all power in His hands was more than enough reason for him to endure.
(And to think we complain about the smallest things!)
The point of this rant is to complain less, enjoy the pain, and be grateful. That pain is working out something wonderful on your behalf.
All my Love, CJ
