Life Soundtrack – October

Hey fam!

Here’s another installment of THEE life soundtrack of yours truly for the month of October.
October definitely presented its challenges with Hurricane Michael coming through and consequently having to juggle life after the storm. However, WE MADE IT. And I’m grateful. For the most part, we were able to remain uplifted and joyful so hopefully these songs bring you a little joy!

jason Never Go a Day by Jason Nelson
I have listened to this song ALMOST every morning on the way to work. Hands down one of my favorite Jason Nelson songs. If you don’t know him, get to know him – especially with this album! When you have a God who will never leave or forsake you, NEVER GO A DAY WITHOUT HIM!! It’s hard not to love this song.
israel Promise Keeper by Israel Houghton feat. Travis Greene
I’ve thoroughly missed Israel’s music. It’s international, multicultural, good time stuff. So it took me a little second to get acquainted with this new album. It grows on you, I promise lol. This is a beautiful song of God’s faithfulness to us. (Not to mention the band killed the transition in this – whomever they are.)Welcome back Israel.
jamison Keep On by Jamison Ross
I’ve been following the career of Jamison since before he was a Grammy nominee. I have known of this guy when he was a drummer at Love and Faith Community Church in Tallahassee, FL and the brother killed every time. Not only is Jamison a skilled musician, but he’s a surprisingly soulful singer. This feel good song is from his second album, All for One. Just like Jamison, the song is chill and just a show of gratefulness.
judith Like the Dew by Judith McAllister
Every time I hear Judith’s voice I get a little tickle in me. I love her! This song is a gem and has also been a repeat on my morning commute to work throughout the course of October. I started listening to it a bit more after the hurricane.
“Like the dew in the morning, gently rest upon my heart…”And He did!
bethel Shine on Us by Bethel Music
There’s something about the Light of the Love of Jesus man. Just when you think you are in your darkest place, fear has crippled you and nothing can open you back up again, His Light comes through. This song is that constant reminder. He’s a Light in the darkness. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:5

It doesn’t matter how dark you think your life is, your darkness can’t comprehend the Light of Jesus Christ and cannot stay.

God Almighty by Maranda Curtis
Maranda is an amazing praise and worship leader. I’m grateful for her answering yes to God and using her gifts to glorify Him. This song is the epitome of that idea. This song flows right into “Maranda’s Song” which simply says that the glory is all about Jesus. All the attention we seek and the recognition we desire from the things we do in the name of the Father isn’t about us. It’s about Jesus and God the Father. The end. This world and this life we live wasn’t created for us – it was created to bring Him glory.

sinatra The Way you Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra
I’m probably gonna be called super geeky for this. BUT….I love me some oldie goldies! Once they pop in my head, it’s hard to get them out. Hence this song. There are many variations from many different people but Frank is bae, ok?
Andy_Grammer_(album) The Pocket by Andy Grammer
This is just the type of song you listen to when you’ve got three hours to drive and you’re looking for a little quirky fun along the way. It’s a truthful song of the type of girl we all try to be lol. Basically what Andy is saying is “give me real love with somebody’s who real, knows who she is and can chill.”
pentatonix White Winter Hymnal by Pentatonix
As far as I’m concerned, the Christmas season started in July. Sorry guys, Halloween has no place here LOL (I only pause briefly for Thanksgiving). Pentatonix has been my favorite since they appeared on an a cappella show some years ago. They sound absolutely amazing and this song is super addictive, as are they. Tell me I’m not alone here!
fran Defender by Francesca Battistelli
I’ve been a huge fan of Francesca Battistelli for years now, and she never disappoints. All of the music she releases are songs of encouragement and sincere worship to the Father. This new album is good, but this song – on repeat. It’s the story of how God fights our battles for us, and all we have to do is praise and worship Him. My favorite of the lyrics – “When I thought I lost me, you knew where I left me, you reintroduced me to Your love.”
